30 August - 2 September, 2007

In August, Noosa Australia comes alive to the sound of jazz. Noosa Queensland is known for its superb restaurants and fabulous sunshine coast weather and when these two features are combined with jazz music they make a stunning combination.

Over 90 jazz sessions are held during the Noosa Jazz Festival. These sessions are hosted in 30 Noosa restaurants scattered across the Noosa map as well as some outdoor venues. There are a mixture of ticketed and free performances on offer, to allow as many people to experience jazz on the Sunshine Coast as possible. There are lots of opportunities to hit the dance floor, as well watch a New Orleans style jazz parade along Hastings Street in Noosa.

Noosa jazz ranges from traditional, Dixie, modern, swing, funk and R&B and everything in between. The festival attracts Jazz greats like James Morrison, Bob Barnard, George Goller, Graeme Bell, Monica Trapaga and Andrew Swann. Some of the greats play solo and some play in combinations never before heard. There are International bands and trios – all with one thing in common – they play the best jazz on the planet.

The Noosa Jazz Festival is one of the many cultural events in Noosa. The Noosa Longweekend held in June is another 10 day celebration of the arts, music, fashion and food.

Noosa on the Sunshine Coast is 90 minutes drive north of Brisbane. Accommodation for the Noosa Jazz festival is at one of the many supporting Noosa holiday accommodation venues or one of the many hundreds of Sunshine Coast accommodation options.
